Boat Sheds of Evans Bay

I was inspired by this scene when I was in Wellington taking reference photos for some possible painting ideas. The weathered boat sheds reflecting their interesting colours on the water made for a great composition. I chose an impressionist style that rendered bursts of enegy and light. I also wanted to capture the feeling of a warm beautiful day by the shore. A celebration of light and tranquility.
