Blooms of Spring

These roses were picked fresh from my garden. This rose is one of my favourites (I think the rose is called Aotearoa) and has an amazing display on show over the summer season.

I decided to paint this in a bold impressionist–abstract style, the composition celebrates color, movement, and emotion over strict realism. I used gestural brushstrokes to give the petals a sense of vibrancy and life.
